Position: Substitute Teacher
Substitute teachers are a very important part of Ritenour's educational community, and we welcome their efforts to help our students learn.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 60 hours of college credit or completed the online 20-hour training to qualify for a substitute teacher's certificate or hold a Missouri eaching certificate.
- To obtain your substitute teaching certificate please apply online at DESE.mo.gov
- Have the ability to use computer software to open browers, review emails, and dowload documents.

Starting Daily Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour or $140.00 per day (Full day is considered 7 work hours)
JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Substitute Teacher
REPORTS TO: School Principal and Human Resources Department
EXAMPLE(S) of WORK PERFORMED:
- Perform classroom teaching responsibilities in compliance with Ritenour School District policies, school rules, and lesson plans
- Foster a postive, learning environment
- Instruct students based on teacher's lesson plans, subject-or grade-specific curriculum, and/or student's abilities and interest
- Effectively supervise and engage a class of students
- Must ensure the safety of the students during the school day
- Organize and use a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of students
- Respect the guidelines set forth by the teacher on behavior processes, and maintain fair and just order in the classroom.
- Has the ability to operate specialized equipment such as computers, copiers, DVD’s etc.
- Possess basic knowledge with using electronic learning platforms, like Google Classroom
- Performs other related work as assigned.assroom.
Physical Demands (Strength)
- Requires travel to work sites within a building. (Mobility)
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
